COMPLETES VITAL HUMANITARIAN, ENVIRONMENTAL AND EDUCATION PROJECTS AROUND THE WORLD
Our work began in Nepal in the early 2000’s and focused on securing safe housing, rehabilitation resources, and providing high-quality education to disenfranchised and displaced children.
Today, we work in many countries with a focus on providing cutting edge, research-driven solutions that serve under-represented rural communities, and degraded and at risk environments both on land and in our oceans.

PADMA NEPAL EDUCATION PROGRAM
Our initial project was the creation of a children’s home on the outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley that housed, cared for, and provided high quality education for children from situations of abject poverty. Most of these children came from families that were displaced during the Nepal civil war of the early 2000’s. With the major conflicts now over these children’s families have moved back to their ancestral villages to rebuild their lives. A number of these children began with Padma while in pre-school and are now studying in college.
PADMA International SERVICE Trips
In the summer months, we host trips for high school students to experience new cultures and continents while working on highly needed humanitarian and environmental projects. In addition to working alongside trained professionals, these trips include cultural site visits, lectures by local or international professors, researchers, and scientists, interaction with local communities and often homestay opportunities.

"When I look back at MY STAY AT THE Padma CHILDREN'S house what I really remember is the sense of family and caring. That kind of compassion is something that I had not seen before. It is good to know kids like that will be the future of their country and our world. Padma is helping to guarantee that."
-Will Skyrud-
Graduate Student, University of California Berkeley
"A few years ago I travelled to Kathmandu to meet the Padma children and I was so impressed with the way the funds were put to use. The children are wonderful and so eager to learn and succeed. I love this organization and am proud to play a small part."
