There are many children in Nepal who are bright and motivated but whose families cannot afford to provide high quality education. Government funded public schools in Nepal consistently perform at, or near the bottom of all South Asian countries. Sponsorship of a child’s education through Padma is $30/month for K-12, and $50/month for college in Nepal. Local Nepali partners meet with the children Padma sponsors across Nepal regularly to check on their progress and needs to ensure students are performing well and to provide additional support, be it tutoring or financial, when needed. 100% of donations to the school sponsorship program go directly to the children with all administration of the program offered entirely on a volunteer basis.
