The struggle around the world for access to clean and usable water for drinking and agriculture grows every year. Padma has dug waterlines for mountain monasteries in Nepal, and designs and builds irrigation systems for small-scale rural farmers in southeast Asia. In India we are currently fundraising and preparing plans to cleanup the polluted waters of the Tibetan Buddhist pilgrimage site, lake Tso Pema, in the town of Relwasar. In northeastern Tibet the villages of the extremely rural region of Amdo often lack access to running water of any kind. In conjunction with local leaders, Padma is fundraising for and will oversee the construction of a water system to bring drinkable water to three villages.
