Bali Reef Rescue

In June and July of 2020 Padma will host all-inclusive trips for high school students to Bali, Indonesia and neighboring islands.

Our main project in Bali focuses on restoring coral reefs off the coast of a rural fishing community on the northeast side of the island.  Each day, trip members learn about local ecological issues while building and deploying reef structures.

Additional service work

*Working in a recycling center to turn plastics into building materials

*Tutoring English and teaching sustainable living practices to local students

*Constructing a community permaculture garden

*Participating in ongoing manta ray research

Trip Highlights

•Trips begin in Ubud, the cultural and spiritual capital of Bali, where we de-jetlag while exploring what Outside Magazine calls one of the coolest towns on the planet.

•On days off at the worksite, we will scuba dive a WWII shipwreck, learn to freedive, hike in rainforests, and enjoy sunrise boat trips with local fisherman.

•The trip ends on the island of Nusa Lembongan with surfing, manta ray swims, and hanging in tropical paradise.
